Preview Video Tips

Here are some Preview Video tips to keep in mind.

  1. Lighting and sound quality is important.

  3. Be on stage speaking within ten seconds of start.
  4. Keep length 4 mins or so.
  5. Clips from different venues a plus. Include some audience shots. .
  6. Have audience mic’d – especially if you use humor.
  7. Do your own narration, you’re a professional speaker.
  8. You can voice over some stills shots. Also, use some short, written testimonials during transitions. Per bureaus and agents – put video testimonials on a separate reel. Use them on your website, social media and YouTube.
  9. Close with a simple “call to action”. Example: “If you like what you see, I’d love to work with you!” Contact info on screen – name, phone number, email, web address.
